Travis’ paintings have a strong sense of place. She is interested in human communities, huge to tiny:  what we do, how we share space with each other and mold that space to our needs.  Travis creates in combinations of any of several mediums.  Oil is applied with a palette knife, watercolor with large brushes or collage. Her paintings are strongly influenced by painting en plein air in watercolor and watercolor is frequently an element in the multi media pieces.
